Membership Renewals Due Jan. 1

Effective Jan. 1, 2005, Individual Members (excluding students and individuals who have multi-year dues that have not expired) will be invoiced on an annual billing cycle that runs Jan. 1 through Dec. 31.

Effective Jan. 1, 2005:

  • All membership cycles will run Jan. 1 to Dec. 31.
  • New members who join after Jan. 31 will be prorated for the year.
  • Student members will be sent an invoice for renewal as a Young Member upon graduation.

    Membership Recruitment Program

    The New Year brings new opportunities to take advantage of the SAME Membership Recruitment Program. The program begins Jan. 1, 2005 and will end Dec. 31, 2005.

    National recognition and an award will be given to the top recruiters in each Post size division (small, medium, large) in three categories:

    • Most Individual Members (excluding SustainingMember Representatives)—free two-year membership.
    • Most Student Members - free one-year membership.
    • Most Sustaining Member Companies or Public Agencies - free two-year membership.

    The Membership Recruitment Program was approved by the SAME Board of Direction in September with the goal of providing annual recognition to top recruiters. This is a great way for you to make a direct contribution to SAME and to help strengthen and expand our network of professionals.

    New SAME Job Center

    Find the right job and the right person through the SAME Job Center at www.same.org/jobs. With our easy-to-use Job Center, you can submit your job ads and complete the payment process online. There's no wait. Your job will be posted immediately! The cost to post a position is:

  • 30 day job posting: $150 for members; $250 for nonmembers.
  • 60 day job posting: $250 for members; $400 for nonmembers.
  • 60 day college student internship posting: $50 for members; $100 for nonmembers.

    In addition, our free resume service makes posting a resume simple and searching them quick and easy.

    Society and Service Awards

    For detailed information on Society and Service Medals & Awards please check out the easy-to-read award matrix located at www.same.org/files/public/AwardsMatrix8-27-04.xls. The new format is intended to help Posts select nominees for Society Awahigh qualityrds. The spreadsheet is divided into tabs (noted at the bottom of the spreadsheet). Posts interested in nominating individuals or organizations for an award can get information from the Society Awards page.

    Streamer submissions are due Jan. 28, 2005. Please call a member of the Post Ops team at SAME HQ for answers to any questions you may have. Please review the new submission criteria at www.same.org/streamerawards to ensure that your submission meets the new criteria.

    Awards and Apparel Available ONLINE!

  • Award Supplies. SAME has many different types of awards and speaker gifts in stock (including desk sets, paperweights, plaques, coffee mugs, etc.) available in the new SAME Online Store. Go to www.same.org/merchandise to place your secure online order.

    NOTE - Some items, such as certificates and certificate holders, may be provided to a Post at no charge (certificate holders are limited to 10 per Post at no charge). Contact Steve Shepard at sshepard@same.org for details.

  • Apparel with the Society Insignia. SAME has a vendor who can order apparel items including golf and denim shirts. Most items come in women's versions. For a small set-up charge your Post can add the Post name under the SAME insignia, or company names to the sleeves. Contact Steve Shepard at sshepard@same.org for details. NOTE - Apparel can soon be ordered from the SAME Online Store.
