Service Chiefs’ and Federal Program Briefings, April 8 The Engineering Service Chiefs of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and Public Health Service along with other Federal agencies, will present initial information regarding their 2006 Presidential Budgets requests and future year capital investment programs, on April 8 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Washington D.C. Academy of Fellows Golden Eagles Awards Dinner On April 9, the SAME Academy of Fellows will present the 10th Annual Golden Eagle Awards at a gala dinner at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Washington D.C. The awards are bestowed on two individuals; one, a Society Fellow selected for exemplary contributions to the engineering profession; the other, a non-member selected for a career of service to the nation in the area of national security. The Golden Eagle Awards dinner will attract a host of federal government VIPs in the Defense Department and each of the uniformed services. Tables of 10 will be open for sponsorship by SAME Sustaining Members. Each sponsorship earns reservations for five people per table and a Young Member; VIPs will be designated to the remaining four places. Dinner tickets will be available to all SAME individual members and their guests. Tables and tickets may be purchased via the SAME Web site at www.same.org/calendar. National Conference Policy and Guidelines Changes The Board of Direction approved a new policy and guidelines for the SAME National Conference. Two major changes: These changes go into effect with the 2005 Joint Engineer Education & Training Conference and Expo in Louisville, Ky. The new Joint Engineer Education & Training Conference and Expo Policy and Guidelines are available under "Society Ops" in the "Members Only" section of the SAME Web site at www.same.org.
