Member Alert! AMS Transition Update

AMS Transition Update for Individual Members
SAME is transitioning Individual Members to its new Association Management System (AMS).  All SAME Individual Members will receive a new SAME Member ID number in February.

Once the new AMS is launched, Individual Members will need to use their e-mail address and new SAME Member ID number to log into the SAME Web site to renew membership, update personal contact information and access Members Only sections of the Web site. New members who joined October through December, 2006, will receive their membership card this month.

AMS Transition Update for Sustaining Members
SAME will begin transitioning current Sustaining Memberships to the new AMS in the coming months. However, renewals will be made under the old system until the AMS is ready. Membership applications will continue to be available on the SAME Web site at www.same.org/join.

AOF Golden Eagle Awards Dinner

The 2007 Golden Eagle Awards Dinner will include a cocktail reception with an open bar, a three-course dinner, music by the Stereo Strings, and the presentation of the Mentoring Award, followed by the presentation of the prestigious Golden Eagle Awards. The entertainment for the evening will be provided by professional magician and mentalist Dick Steiner.

DOD and Related Federal Program Briefings Changes
Formerly known as the Engineering Service Chiefs Briefings, the 2007 Department of Defense (DOD) and Related Federal Program Briefings sports a new format. The 2007 event will feature an extended list of speakers from various DOD offices and will include sessions to help SAME Sustaining Member Companies do business with DOD construction agencies.

The event is open to all SAME Sustaining Members, but seating is limited. To register, go to www.same.org/DOD.

International Business Opportunities Workshop, Feb. 21, 2007
The SAME International Committee is sponsoring an International Business Opportunities Workshop for Sustaining Members to provide them with information on global design and construction opportunities.

The daylong series of discussions will be organized by region. For each region, command and staff-level personnel will present the perspective of each of the services, followed by panel discussions and a Q&A period.

Installation Realignment Workshop, Feb. 22, 2007
The Installation Realignment Workshop is intended to provide SAME Members with timely information on opportunities available as part of BRAC 05 and other military installation transformation and realignment actions in the U.S. and its Territories.

The daylong series of discussions will address such hot topics as: challenges and initiatives for selling and transferring property in "as-is" condition; on-going and planned service efforts to implement joint basing in the real property area; and design-build-finance opportunities for operational facilities.

Registration is $200 and is open to SAME Members only. To register, go to www.same.org/realignment.

The International Business Opportunities Workshop and the Installation Realignment Workshop will take place at the Fairmont Hotel in Washington, D.C.

Register for both workshops and take advantage of the discounted rate of $325—a $75 dollar savings off the price if registered separately. Online registration closes Feb. 9, 2007, at 5:00 pm EST for attendees.  After that date, you must register onsite and pay an additional $75 onsite registration fee for each workshop.
