SAME Recognizes Posts for Outstanding Achievements

Top Post Awards were established to recognize outstanding Post operations and significant accomplishments in support of SAME’s Strategic Plan. SAME presents one award in each size category. A Small Post has up to 75 members, a Medium Post from 75-250 Members and a Large Post more than 250 Members. Congratulations to each of the following Posts for an excellent year!

Guam Post Wins Top Small Post Award

The Guam Post received the Top Small Post Award for a second year in a row and is again honored as a Distinguished Post. Throughout the year, the Post hosted a number of educational programs and recognized Young Members and mentors. In addition, the Post increased Sustaining Members by 10 percent in 2006.

Tulsa Post Wins Top Medium Post

Tulsa is a Distinguished Post. The Post’s education and training programs focused on small business, combat engineering and emerging technologies. The Post also participated in multiple emergency response exercises, organized engineering challenges and mentoring programs for students, and awarded scholarships and supported Young Members in SAME leadership positions. The Post also was a frequent contri¬butor to SAME News. The Post increased Sustaining Members by 5 percent in 2006.

Fort Worth Wins Top Large Post Award

The Fort Worth Post is a Distinguished Post and won all of its Streamers with Distinction. The Post supports leadership opportunities for Young Members, has a robust scholarship program, hosts programs of relevance for both the public and private sectors, and participates in national security and emergency preparedness exercises. The Fort Worth Post increased the number of Sustaining Members by 10 percent in 2006.
