Post Dues Transition
Effective Jan. 1, 2007, there will be no Post dues collected from Individual Members. Instead, Posts will receive 15 percent of national Individual Member dues. The monies will be distributed twice each year based on earned revenue. The two payout periods will be Jan. 1 through June 30, and July 1 through Dec. 31 each year. Dues will be distributed on a per capita basis according to the number of members in each Post.
The Individual Member baseline on Jan. 1 and July 1 will be used to determine the number of members. Students will be excluded from this count. For 2007 only, checks mailed to Posts in February 2007 will include only Post dues collected during the months of October and November 2006. The first time that dues checks will be sent to Posts using the 15 percent calculated distribution will be in August 2007 for the period Jan. 1 through June 30.

SAME HQ will provide periodic reminders to Post Membership POCs and Post Leaders that they should terminate the use of current Individual Member applications on Nov. 1, 2006. New Individual Member applications will be available on the SAME Web site, www.same.org, beginning Dec. 1, 2006.
| Notice to all SAME Members |
Due to SAME’s transition to a new Association Management System (AMS), SAME’s membership database will be shutdown during the following dates to convert data from our current system to the new system. That means:
Individual Members:
No Individual Member applications, renewals, or member information changes can be made via the SAME Web site between Nov. 1 and Nov. 30, 2006. On Dec. 1, 2006, these functions will be active again for Individual Members.
Sustaining Members:
No Sustaining Member applications, renewal forms, or SM representative updates can be made between Dec. 1, 2006 and Jan. 7, 2007. On Jan. 8, 2007, these functions will be active again for Sustaining Members.
Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience. We anticipate that our AMS will be fully operational shortly after the start of the new year.

New AMS Transitions Update
During the months of November and December 2006, SAME HQ will be transferring information from the present membership database system to its new Association Management System (AMS), ClearVantage.
To meet the conversion completion date of Dec. 1, 2006, for the transition of Individual Member data, it will be necessary to temporarily suspend all online membership transactions. As a result, no new Individual Member applications, renewals, or member information changes can be made via the SAME Web site between Nov. 1 and Nov 30, 2006. On Dec. 1, 2006, these functions will be active again for Individual Members using the new AMS.
For Sustaining Members, the conversion from the old database to the new AMS will occur during the month of December. Thus, no new Sustaining Member applications, renewal forms, or representative information updates can be made between Dec. 1, 2006 and Jan. 7, 2006. On Jan. 8, 2007, these functions will be active again for Sustaining Members.
The AMS—a modern, fully-integrated interactive database system—will provide added value for both SAME Posts and SAME’s membership. Thank you for your understanding during this transition period.
Century House Fund Campaign-
Extended to Oct. 31
So far, more than $230,000 has been raised for much-needed improvements to Century House, the SAME HQ building. To complete the needed work, and establish a Gallery of Military Engineer Leaders, we need to raise $300,000. To ensure that we reach our target, we have extended the fundraising campaign through October 31, 2006.
Please join our benevolent Sustaining Member Companies, Posts and Individual Members (listed on our Web site at www.same.org/CenturyHouse) that already have donated to the Century House Fund. Make your donations online at www.same.org/
CenturyHouse or by contacting SAME Marketing Manager Jennifer Nichols at jnichols@same.org, or 703-549-3800, ext. 144.
Donations will be used to establish a new Gallery of Military Engineer Leaders that will showcase our engineering leaders and to restore the façades and windows on the exterior of your historic headquarters building in Old Town Alexandria, Va. For more information about the history of Century House, check out www.same.org/CenturyHouse.
A final check will be presented to SAME Leaders at the SAME Southwest and Rocky Mountain Regional Education and Training Conference in San Francisco, Calif., Nov. 7-9, 2006. This conference also is host to the SAME Fall Board Meeting, the Fellows Investiture and the Senior Executive Group Meeting.
Donate today and add your company to our growing list of Fund Sponsors! With four Fund Sponsor Levels, there’s something to fit every budget. We also offer several Donor Levels for Posts and Individuals.
